1. Where is Baked Academy located?

We are based only at:
 109 Sunny Road, Lakefield, Benoni, South Africa

 

2. Are you an accredited provider?

Yes. Baked Academy is proudly registered with CATHSSETA (Culture, Art, Tourism, Hospitality, and Sport Sector Education and Training Authority) locally, and internationally accredited by CTH Awards (Confederation of Tourism and Hospitality).

 

3. Why is your Diploma in Patisserie shorter than at other institutions?

Our internationally recognised qualification through CTH does not require prior industry training before awarding the Diploma. This means you can complete your studies in just 6 months and begin your career much sooner. During your time on campus, you will participate in daily practical sessions to build hands-on experience.

 

4. What are the requirements to register for your programs?

To enrol in our internationally accredited courses, you must:
• Be 16 years or older
• Have a basic understanding of mathematics
• Be proficient in English
No prior culinary experience is required.

 

5. Do you accept international students?

Absolutely! Once you apply and are accepted into a course, you will receive a Letter of Acceptance to support your student visa application.

 

6. What career opportunities are available with a Patisserie qualification?

Our Diploma in Patisserie opens many doors. Graduates go on to:

7. How do I enrol?

8. Do you offer student accommodation?

While we do not offer on-campus accommodation, we can refer you to trusted guesthouses within walking distance of the academy.

 

9. Is the academy Halaal?

Yes. Baked Academy is fully Halaal. All ingredients and processes adhere to Halaal standards.

 

10. Are there any hidden or additional fees?

No. All fees are transparent and include all materials, uniforms, and ingredients required for your course. There are no hidden costs.

 

11. Do you offer part-time or evening classes?

Currently, all our programs are delivered on a full-time, in-person basis to maintain high training standards. Part-time options may be introduced in the future.

15. Is there an age limit to enrol?

There is no upper age limit. As long as you are 16 years or older and meet the entry requirements, you’re welcome to apply, whether you’re a matriculant, a career changer, or a passionate baker.

 

16. Do you offer job placement or internship support?

While our program does not require industry placement, we offer:
Career support and industry referrals
• A consultation with OVC International Placement to explore international opportunities after graduation

 

17. Can I start my own business after completing the course?

18. What payment options are available?

We offer flexible, interest-free payment plans. You may pay in full or in monthly instalments. Please contact our admissions team for customised options.

 

19. Is there an application deadline?

Yes. Due to limited space in each intake, applications are processed on a first-come, first-served basis. Early application is strongly recommended.

 

20. Do I need to bring my own equipment or ingredients?

No. Everything required for your course—including tools, ingredients, and uniforms—is provided and included in your course fees.

 

21. What are the class sizes?

We maintain small classes (maximum of 15 students) to ensure personalised attention and a high-quality hands-on learning experience.

 

22. Can I visit the campus before applying?

Yes! We encourage you to book a campus tour to meet instructors, view the facilities, and experience the academy environment before committing.

 

23. Do you offer short courses or workshops?
